The fact that the chargers for cell phones are not compatible, according to a press release of the EU is not only a big inconvenience for users, but also presents a major environmental problem. Leading manufacturers of mobile phones and smartphones are committed to ensuring the compatibility of chargers for data-enabled mobile phones based on micro-USB connector. The agreement was drawn up in June 2009 and signed by Apple, Emblaze Mobile, Huawei, LGE, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Qualcomm, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Alcatel, Texas Instruments and Atmel.
Then in 2011 consumers will have a universal charger with micro-USB connector.
